About Me

CURRENT MISSION

The same mission as every night, Pinky: try to take over the world! Muhahaha!

ABOUT ME

Funny, intelligent, sociable and friendly guy. All I want to do is have a good time, even though I'm working like a dog and rarely have any time for myself. I love good music (no use in listing genres and subgenres, it would take ages), stand-up comedy, sci-fi tv shows, movies and books, and just chillin' out.
Spent a while working in tourism, the insurance business,IT support, but I've decided to stop compromising and focus on what I love most: music. I used to work as a live sound engineer and play drums in Romania's first and only horrorpunk band, I DJ'ed and hosted a rock`n`roll party every Friday at a local underground venue, and I did a bit of tour-booking, band management and PR on the side. I currently work a more steady job, as a studio technician for Eurosport, mixing live sports commentary. None of the things I do or have done for a living have anything to do with my formal education, and I like it that way.
I love food, people and cultures, foreign languages and an assortment of other things I'll let you discover once we meet.

PHILOSOPHY

If at first you don't succeed...make sure all the cables are plugged in the right places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A couch, a smile, a night on the town, alternate history you don't read about in books, and most importantly, I participate with an open mind and heart.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ever since I was 15 I started roaming the country, just going to random places just to meet people i had spoken to over the internet (mIRC, anyone remember that?). That is how I came to know people in almost every county in Romania and create a network of friends that i could stay with whenever i visited.
After discovering CS I told myself this is the best thing out there. So I traveled to the US and stayed with and met surfers there, hosted and met people in Bucharest, gone to the occasional local CS gathering. Loving it and still haven`t found any downsides.

Music, Movies, and Books

TV Shows: Rick and Morty, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Lucifer, Preacher, Wynona Earp, Legends of Tomorrow, SUpergirl, The Flash, Stargate (plus spin-offs), Doctor Who (plus spin-offs), The Sarah Jane Adventures, Torchwood...and probably many more that I forgot to mention :))

Movies:Trainspotting, Requiem for a Dream, The Butterfly Effect, The man from Earth; The Matrix series, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Blade, Independence Day, Underworld, The Terminal, Ice Age, Madagascar, Shrek, K-Pax, Mr. Nobody, - and the list goes on and on. Just ask me if I`ve seen it.
Books: The Giver; A Canticle for Leibowitz; The Genesis Secret; Hammer and Tickle; Paradise Lost; The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (whole series), Revelation Space, Rendezvous with Rama, the Expanse series.
If it's sci-fi and it's good, and I haven`t read it yet (which is very likely),I will be grateful if you point it out to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.
Hopped trains and buses with no destination in mind.
Met the most fabulous people in the most unlikely places.
Volunteered for Via Maria Therezia, an 83 km long ultra-marathon in the mountains of North-Eastern Romania.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love a good chat about hardware and gizmos as much as the other guy. Would LOVE to meet people that are better photographers than I am and hopefully some of their skill will rub off onto me :) anything multi-media, from music production and composition to visuals, movies, performing arts gets me very excited.
FOOD - I cook and I'm curious and willing to sample ANYTHING at least once (well, maybe not just ANYTHING, but I want to experience the world through it's flavors) - would love to learn new, exotic stuff to cook when i get home.
What I can teach: drum beats, cooking, the fine art of wasting time ;)
SHARE: my country. I was a tourguide for two consecutive seasons before going to college, and I still have it in my blood - the wanderlust, the love of sharing, of meeting new people from all over the world and showing them a side of Romania that regular, "official" tours just can't show. Places, People, Food, History, Politics - I can offer insight on all of these.

What I Can Share with Hosts
