About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Professionally, to learn how to fight cancer as a researcher in Portland, OR.
Personally, I want to meet new people, see new places, and take in as much culture (in the form of art, food, books, travel, and new friends), etc. as I possibly can.
ABOUT ME
I'm a science nerd with a love for books, music, podcasts, and pop culture in general. I love going to concerts, checking out new movies, crafting, dancing, and hiking. I'm open minded and curious and excited to meet new people.
PHILOSOPHY
If you're happy and you're not hurting anyone, do what you will!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I think a huge part of traveling is meeting new people and immersing yourself in another place's culture. Couchsurfing is such a great way to do that! Staying in hotels and airbnbs limits your ability to get to know a place.
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm definitely interested in surfing and possibly hosting in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couch surfed for the first time in Italy and 2018, and had a great time!

Music, Movies, and Books
Some of my favorite movies include Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Princess Bride. There are many more, so I'll keep this list short.
I love music and have fairly eclectic taste. Living in Seattle and Portland definitely makes it possible to try new music constantly! I tend to listen to indie/folksy/alt types of music, but I'm always open to something new.
I enjoy books that make you think. Haruki Murakami and Neil Gaiman are a couple of my favorite authors, but I love all sorts of fiction, classics, etc. I have a few friends getting me into graphic novels/comic books lately, which is fun and also a great break after reading scientific literature all day. I would love to trade music and books with my hosts/guests.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- The Crossing at Shibuya: it was just like I saw it in every photo and movie. It was the first time I'd been outside of North America, so standing there under the flashing lights was totally surreal.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to share books and music that I'm digging, can teach a bit about my science life, and would love to learn about the history and culture of the places I visit! I love to chat and get to know people and am open to pretty much anything!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some Pacific Northwest music, my pop culture trivia skills, and my love of making new friends.
