About Me

Recently quit my job to travel through Europe, Asia and the Middle East with my wife. We drove with our van from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to Kathmandu, Nepal. All in all about 20.000 kilometers, passing Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and India on the way.

Right now we are in India and will move to the Middle East soon to visit the U.A.E, Oman, Saudi Arabia and a few other places before we drive back home! On our trip we love meeting locals who can tell us more about their lives and the places they live. Therefore, I reactivated my couchsurfing account in the hopes of meeting some nice people along the way!

I am easy-going, adventurous and love meeting new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Over the years I have hosted and been hosted by people and I really appreciate the experience. Not only is it a great way to meet kind and interesting people but it teaches us so much more about the place you're visiting. I am looking forward to meeting some people wherever I am and I'm looking forward to hosting people back in Amsterdam.

I've hosted a few people in Groningen and Amsterdam and I've been hosted in France, Luxembourg, the US and Spain... to name a few!

Interests

Back home I play in a band! Hard to explain the genre but it's a bit of rock, funk and blues together! Making music is my passion (I play the drums and a bit of guitar). Before I went on this trip with my wife I have been playing gigs in Amsterdam at different venues. When I'm back I hope to pick it back up!

Other than that I love travelling and have been finding the time to do so as much as possible in the last years. Covid made it a lot harder but I'm very happy to be back on the road right now and exploring so many beautiful places and meeting so many great people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Right after high school I went to New Zealand for a half a year. Travelling around and working mostly on my own really opened my eyes and somewhat changed my life. I met many incredible people and it was an amazing experience. Since then I've kept on travelling - mostly in Asia and the Middle East! I find it a great way to get some perspective on life back home and it opens you up for so many unexpected experiences and adventures that would never have taken place if I had stayed home!

Teach, Learn, Share

I could give some drum lessons ;)
