About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To gain a better understanding of the bountiful source of culture around me!

ABOUT ME

I'm a fun loving guy that is always up for an adventure. I'm open minded and eager to learn. I like to consider myself funny and fun to be around. I have fun just hanging out and getting to know people. I would rather get to know the people of a town and just walk around exploring than hitting up the big tourist points (although tourist spots can be fun too). Let's see... I'm laid back but not boring, and I guess the rest you can find out!

PHILOSOPHY

I actually just completed a six page paper on my personal philosophy for a Philosophy class here at school- But I really don't think you want to read through all that- So here's my personal philosophy boiled down into a phrase or two:

“In all people there is a great benevolence just waiting to be released by love.”

Pretty much I believe that no matter what- people are wired to be attracted to good- there can be things along the way that may deter that attraction- but deep down inside humans are naturally good. I believe that this overall good is enhanced and radiates through love. Love is the force that creates this good and releases it. Long story short- if you love everybody it will bring out the best in them and you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing, hosting, building friendships!

My advice is to really take the time out to get to know your hosts. They put themselves out so that you can have a place to stay. Be interested and talk with them, they're not just a hostel but a possibility at a new friend! Don't let them feel used.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I heard of couch surfing through a friend of mine and I was tentative at first, I didn't know what to expect and I felt a little nervous of just barging into someone's personal space. I first couched surfed in Amsterdam with a guy named Klaas and it was such a fun experience. It changed my whole outlook on traveling. Now I guess you could say "I'm hooked!"

Interests

I guess the basics for a guy- Sports, Food, Friends...
But deep down I'm really interested in Culture, how things work, what makes people tick, and those sorts of interesting things. I really like getting to know people and building friendships.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything that broadens my knowledge, makes me smile, or inspires me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One day watching the sunset over the Pacific and the next morning watching it rise against the Mediterranean.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a student of life and I can share the many life lessons that I have learned through schooling, traveling, interactions with people, and life in general. I learned Spanish in Spain and can teach you a lot about the Spanish culture and all the fun things tied in with that- I can teach you some Spanish too if you want! I can also teach some piano and guitar, and if you are into sports, Im a college athlete, so I could teach you a few things about that.
