I'm a girl who likes nothing better than to have all my friends (old ones, new ones, those just wandered in off the street) gathered together talking and laughing over a couple of bottles of good wine and cold beer while I cook something yummy for us.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None - I'm a newbie, though I hosted people when I lived in Florida. There was this one adorable couple from France - he was a film critic and she self-published her writings - they weren't a day under 75 and still traveling where the wind took them. They continue to inspire me.

Intereses

Movies (love b-horror and art house flicks equally), travel, graphic novels & other literature, post-modern theory (especially the writings of Derrida, Cixious, Chomsky and Hebdige), politics...there's not much I can't find interest in.

I seriously heart movies -- There Will Be Blood, Little Miss Sunshine, Children of Men, Shaun of the Dead, Slither, Thank You For Smoking, Once, The Goonies, Intermission, Howl's Moving Castle, Shawshank Redemtion, Versus, The Host -- the list goes on and on and on.

I am always open to catching a new band -- that's how you find something wonderful. Right now I'm listening to the Editors, Interpol, Death Cab for Cutie, Flight of the Concords, Avett Brothers, Decemberists, Cat Powers, Mouldy Peaches...

Books -- seriously, I can't even start. If you are a book lover and come to Portland, you'll discover nirvana at Powell's. Trust me.
