About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Getting the most out of late-summer
ABOUT ME
I'm 22, full of energy, social and I want to see as much of the world as I possibly can. I consider myself as independent, easy to live with and open minded but then again most people say that about themselves so that doesnt really set me apart. I just started a Masters programme in Economics at Ghent University after some extensive travelling during my Bachelor's. I have studied in US, South Africa and the US again (Washington) for a semester long internship. I aim to travel as much as I can - mostly as adventurous as possible. I greatly enjoy meeting random new people from different places and getting lost in conversation. I get into debates with almost anyone about almost anything but I make it a point never to take myself too seriously.
PHILOSOPHY
Shall develop one once I'm retired. Right now, I'm too busy travelling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been absent from CS since I had a 2-month backpacking adventure through South America in 2010, were I used CS a lot. Since then, I've had roommates and thus little chance to host others. However, now that I'm back in Belgium I'm happy to host!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been surfing with other alumni from the UWC-USA college and various other international friends - which has been great. Since then, I've used CS to backpack through South America from Sao Paulo to Lima.
Interests
I've got a fairly broad field of interests, falling somewhere between a jock, a nerd and an outdoorsy person. I'm into a variety of sports such as squash, climbing and running. Backpacking/mountaineering is the real passion for me, any adventurous outdoors activity is spot on. I love being out in nature with a backpack and some friends, challenging ourselves with that next peak. Economics is my field of study, and I really like history / international politics too. I'm thinking about getting a masters in Environmental Economics, but I still have to figure that out. Apart from that, I love motorcycles. Being on a bike, riding around for no reason at all.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything from a good economics/history book (currently the world after 1945) to freakonomics or fantasy. I'm fairly mainstream on movies, I tend to like things such as Memento, Into the Wild, Fightclub, Inception, American history X...
