About Me

ABOUT ME

"We dance around in a ring and suppose,
But the secret sits in the middle and knows."
Robert Frost

- spontaneous to chaotic
- good improviser (have to be since I'm a great procrastinator, too)
- optimistic, nearly always in a good mood

PHILOSOPHY

"He not busy being born is busy dying"
Bob Dylan

Interests

I am interested in politics, but I'm not organised in a party (except for the satirical German party "Die Partei", of which I am a member).
I am also interested in everything that amazes me, be it an article on a website I haven't known before, a person, an act, nature, a foreign country and culture - or anything else that does it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot, so I could write a thousand book titles in this box. Since this would be rather boring, just some authors (but the list is certainly not complete): Chuck Palahniuk, Kurt Vonnegut, Arthur Miller, Charles Bukowski, Hermann Hesse, Franz Kafka, Albert Camus, Jean-Paul Sartre, Heiner Müller, Bertolt Brecht, Kurt Tucholsky, ...
I am also very interested in movies and series. To name the series I have been/am watching: Doctor Who (the old one), The X-Files, Twin Peaks, Torchwood, Skins (UK), American Horror Story, United States of Tara, Supernatural, My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic, ...
Some movies/directors: Stanley Kubrick, Gregg Araki, Gus van Sant, Jim Jarmush, Wim Wenders, David Lynch, Ingmar Bergman, Volker Schlöndorff, Gaspar Noé, Pedro Almodóvar, Party Monster, Titus (1999), Party Monster, Fight Club, Ken Park, The Fountain, Memento, Donnie Darko, old Hammer Movies, some Japanese/Asian Horror Movies (like Tale of Two Sisters or Ju-On), and a splatter/horror movie, just from time to time (especially Cannibal Holocaust, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, ...). And I like every movie with Klaus Kinski in it, even the shitty ones.
Finally, music. I am very open minded when it comes to music; when I'm in the right mood, I almost listen to everything. My favourites in terms to genres/artists I listen to most often, however, are Neofolk, Psychobilly/Horrorpunk, some older Goth Music (Alien Sex Fiend, Bauhaus, The Chameleons) and some newer Goth Music, though mostly German (Goethes Erben, Janus, Samsas Traum), some Deutschpunk (Dritte Wahl, especially) and Einstürzende Neubauten, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Leonard Cohen and Paul Roland, all of which don't really fit in one of those genres.
Puh, I really hope this isn't much too much for anyone to read. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have learned to play the accordeon. I write poetry and have stood on various Poetry Slam stages. I have shot an amateur movie with some friends; the post-production will be finished in summer 2012, hopefully.
