About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel for as long as possible without going insane!

ABOUT ME

I'm a very easy-going, but fairly quiet person; I guess my thinking time far out-weighs my speaking time. I think I'm what they call a good listener, but I have fairly strong opinions, and love a good debate too. I'm very mathematically\logically minded and often find myself bending concepts into that way of thinking, even if most people would consider that an impossible thing to do (e.g., with the arts and humanities).

I can't deny that the term 'nerd' has been thrown my way many a time in my life, but I think that I have managed to find the perfect balance of activities that allows me to hold my ground in the face of any personal onslaughts: sitting on the couch at my best friends' place, sipping beer, gossiping, eating excessive amounts of junk food, watching the latest Bond release on DVD... WHILE coding games and astrophysical simulations on my laptop. And if all else fails, I can even claim that I sometimes 'go out', to 'raves'.

PHILOSOPHY

Be free. Freedom, in all its contexts and interpretations, is the most important thing to me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I eventually make it back home I look forward to opening up my couch too, but for now I just hope that I can be a great guest!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Every moment of my CSing experience has been fantastic so far! I would pick out one particular story, but everyone I have met has been so different and every experience so amazing that it would be impossible to choose.

Interests

Science and maths, computer programming, Brasilian jiu-jitsu, parkour, magic tricks.

Music, Movies, and Books

Fav. movie is still probably The Matrix, but others that randomly come to mind are Lock Stock and Bridge to Terabithia. There are simply too many movies to give any sort of exhaustive list.
Music, well I choose to listen almost exclusively to trance, but I enjoy plenty of other stuff too, whether it's pop, hip-hop or classical.
I tend to read quite a lot of non-fiction sciency stuff, but also love the Harry Potter, Tomorrow When the War Began, Discworld and His Dark Materials series, and of course Lord of the Rings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well I've recently been to Cinque Terre in Italy, and that was pretty darn amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

A single, large, washed-but-not-peeled potato pricked three times with a fork and placed on a piece of paper towel on a plate in the microwave for 12 minutes (or so) combined with any combination of cheese, sour cream, ham or bacon, beans and/or salad is one of the best travelling recipes I know.
