About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live well, die well, to have served well, to love well, to worship well, to eat well, drink well, sleep well, and do all things, and small things, well.
ABOUT ME
We got married several years ago. We're more in love than ever. We love love love to travel and see new things and meet new people and discover.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We've traveled here and there and met several new CS friends. We enjoy the company and the great conversation.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
GUESTING: We stayed at the scintillating Belfry in posh West Didsbury, with a houseful of amazing people who welcomed us with open arms. A great first CS experience!
Then we went to the great American city of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and stayed with Ama, who was also welcoming and tons of fun.
We also went to Oberammergau, Germany, and met up with Clayton and Blazem, two spectacularly entertaining and fun people who made our trip sparkle.
So far, we haven't had a CS experience yet that wasn't a blast.
Outside of CS, there's been quite a bit of crashing at people's places. I've been pretty shameless about it: "General McSo&so? I'm Barry, and I went to church with your daughter a few years ago, and I'm going to be in Heidelburg next July...." Heh. I also spent a month in Alaska (December!) with my brother and sister-in-law and their family. The greatest was in Como, Italy, where I stayed with a friend's old exchange-student-program host family. They were gracious, beautiful, life-loving people with a fantastic house that they shared freely. What a great example!
HOSTING: we've entertained musicians from Uruguay, bankers from Virginia, choirboys from the American Boychoir (no joke! and they're great musicians too), friends from Houston, and nieces from across town. It's always an adventure and a pleasure.
Interests
Music, art, books, books, books. Of course, Harry Potter! HP7, wow. Lots of jazz, lots of good food and wine. Interesting people, church families that are really families. Staying up late at night talking philosophy and theology and late-night stuff.
