Overview
About Me
I'm a playful and easy going ambivert who has spent most of her life on the East Coast of Canada but is well travelled in Europe and Asia. I like language, etymology, reading/learning, sustainability and things that come in chocolate, cinnamon, or red flavours. I like glass, cemeteries, things the glow in the dark, bottle cap fortunes, lighting votive candles even though i'm not Catholic, coins with holes in them, and pressing warm things against my face. My favourite word is 'swamp.' I'm pro renewable energy, feminism, real food, living wages, and anything that works toward a fair and equitable future really. I'm anti-consumerism, anti-wealth gap and anti-corporation, but like to remember that we live in a complex world and things don't change overnight and if we tried to pretend they could, we'd all be hypocrites. I'd love to travel through the Middle East and spend time in Africa, but also build a life at home in Canada.
Interests
I'm interested in the environment, cooking, gardening, real food and non-toxic living, swimming, hiking, learning languages, road trips, financial planning, personal development, great conversation and good people.
Things I'd love to try: rock climbing on real rocks, surfing, building a greenhouse, making my own maple syrup, building a house, learning survival skills.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love science fiction and lately I've been listening to anything uplifting or optimistic. Some of my favourites books have been Atlas Shrugged (some people hate Ayn Rand, but it's because they don't understand the permeable self!), We the Living, On the Road, The Beach, World War Z, The Bridge of San Luis Rey, but mostly I read non-fiction like Your Money or Your Life, The 4 Hour Work Week, The Beauty Myth, and anything by Brene Brown. My favourite blogger calls himself Mr. Money Mustache.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have walked around the Golden Temple in Amritsar in bare feet at sunrise, opened my home to travelling roommates and created a beautiful community, made amazing salad with my own garden greens, fallen in love, grown an avocado plant from seed, taken thousands of beautiful photographs, and learned endless lessons that I've kept in my toolkit and used to improve my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to read labels and avoid toxic products, write in Korean, speak German (unless you're already German, then I suck), take better photographs, improve your English, make sushi or kimbap, invest for the future and get your finances in order. I am abnormally enthusiastic about personal finance.
I'm interested in your language, anything you have to say about issues you are passionate or knowledgeable about, activism, sustainability, new physical activities, how to pick a lock or other practical skills.
