About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn about the many cultures contained within these fine United States. Traveling with my wife (100% nomads) since early Sep 2021; we're looking for the next spot to call home!

ABOUT ME

My wife and I are currently traveling the US of A: we're enjoying *many* new adventures and searching for our next place to root. We're recent escapees from Boulder, Colorado. We are nature lovers and hikers, lifelong travelers. I love homebrewing beers and ciders and on rare occasion a mead. I recently finished a master's in social cultural anthropology. Rachel and I both have architecture undergrad degrees.

I was in the Peace Corps and lived two years in a small village in Mali, West Africa. I helped with several projects in the village, but in truth, I got more out of the experience than they got. The people were amazing.

I helped with the housing needs in East Biloxi, MS, after hurricane Katrina, practiced sustainable passive-solar residential design, but still felt something was missing, so off to grad school I went. Currently volunteering my time as a researcher with an education project in Ghana while also hunting for my next professional role.

About me: I am somewhat an idealist, interested in regionalism and the state of our society - I am not a flaming liberal, though. A lot of the time I am a pretty easy going average Joe. I love philosophical discourse or picking out the nuanced notes of the stout beer we're both drinking. I have been known to deadpan my share of one liners, but keep it mostly above the belt ;)

About my wife, Rachel: art lover, word nerd and etymology enthusiast, tree hugger, builder of stuff, and usually working in the startup sector as the person who maintains/reintroduces the humanity to the machinated methods. Let's play boggle, talk about our forests, trade puns, or build a bird house together! Let's do it in French or Spanish or German or Italian or... you tell me!
