About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world and meet lots of great people!

ABOUT ME

I'm an open-minded, adventurous guy with a passion for travel, education, and technology. I really enjoy being able to have intelligent conversations with people and getting the opportunity to learn more about them and anything they know and are passionate about. I've traveled to a lot of different places around the world, but haven't seen nearly enough.

I love to hike, bike, explore, and meet new people. I like a lot of different types of music and movies, and enjoy sharing my taste in music with others. I really like to eat and experience different foods wherever I go. For me it's one of the most important parts of traveling.

I don't smoke, and I rarely drink, but I don't let that stop me from going out to a nightclub and having a good time. As long as there are good people around, I'll have fun.

PHILOSOPHY

"I am not the same, having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world." -Mary Anne Radmacher

Don't let the inconsequential stuff bother you. Worrying about it isn't going to make anything better.

No regrets. Only learning opportunities.

See as much as I can, as soon as I can. Don't put it off too long because you never know... you could get hit by a bus at any moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel, I really enjoy meeting new people and learning about life in other parts of the world. I also enjoy showing people my city, even if I currently can't host anyone on my couch due to my current living situation. I have a great 4 hour tour of San Francisco. We'll eat good food and see some beautiful parts of the city.

Interests

I'm interested in travel, technology, languages, travel, snowboarding, eating, movies, music, travel, indoor rock climbing, water skiing, hiking, and exploring. Did I mention that I like to travel?

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Action and Adventure movies, as well as movies that really make you think. If you think you know what's going on, and then there's suddenly a twist that makes you go "aha!" then it might be a movie I would like. I also really like movies that are visually stunning. I love the creative use of color and light, but without overdoing it through special effects. Some of my favorites are: Hero, The Game, American Beauty, The Joy Luck Club, American Psycho, The Cell, Seven, 12 Monkeys, Pan's Labyrinth, Fight Club, and many many more.

I enjoy a lot of different types of music. International dance music is one of my favorites. I also really like alternative, rock, christian alternative, classical, jazz, soul, pop, and country. Some of my particular favorites are: Jason Mraz, Jon McLaughlin, Adele, Gaelle, Anggun, Dave Matthews, Matchbox 20, 3 Doors Down, and Casting Crowns.

I read a variety of book types: Sci-fi, History, Comedy, Adventure, Science, Fantasy, and World Politics. Some of my favorites have been: The Alchemist; Eats, Shoots, & Leaves; anything by Michael Crichton; anything by JRR Tolkien...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went skydiving. It was so exhilarating. Not sure when I'll get to do it again.

Teach, Learn, Share

My friends rely on me as their tech geek. I stay caught up on tech news, so that I can reliably make recommendations, or help people with their technology challenges.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to exchange stories from my adventures around the world. I can make Chili, Shakshouka, and have a delicious cookie recipe that I sometimes enjoy making with friends. My hope is that we will remain in contact, and I can show you San Francisco when you visit me!
