ABOUT ME

Jean and I love to travel, meet people, see places. After over 25 years of marriage and bringing up 2 children we now have the time to do it.

I am considered an extrovert but can calm myself down when needed :-)

Jean is quieter, but can hype herself up when needed :-)

PHILOSOPHY

We take life as it comes, and let fate take its hand.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've had people to stay at our house and we've stayed with other couchsurfers. We've met a lot of people we wouldn't normally have met, and had the privilege of experiencing other peoples' lifestyles first hand. All has been positive.

Interests

Motorbikes, motorbike rallies, travel, music, real ale, wine, hill walking, cycling, swimming outside. Addicted to big skies, clouds, and sweeping views from high up places. And campfires.....

Music, Movies, and Books

Both of us - rock music. (Van Halen, Deep Purple, UFO, Pink Floyd ... all the usual stuff, preferably with guitar work), Hawkwind. Kula Shaker. Nirvana. Also into some of the US stuff like Greenday, Evanscence etc. Developed a liking for bluegrass after spending time in US.

Jean - I also like more soulful stuff such as The Verve, Leonard Cohen, and Enigma. Sometimes I can even persuade Bruce to listen as well :-)

Bruce - I read mainly fiction, travel stories and fantasy, but also like biographies.

Jean - Anything interesting at the time. Currently liking tales of exploration, especially if its a woman doing the exploring. Travel books and 'survival' manuals. Big fan of David Attenborough natural history films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took a 9 month sabbatical, and shipped our motorbikes to Canada. Rode through USA and Central America, then the length of the Andes to the tip of South America and back to Buenos Aires. Saw a lot of penguins!

Teach, Learn, Share

Jean - I can show you how to build and light campfires. Singing optional :-) Can also knit, crochet and embroider. At work I am interested in brain injury rehab and using outdoor/nature activities to help people recover from injury or illness.

Bruce - computer skills. As long as it doesn't involve Microsoft Windows!

Both of us - want to learn to speak Spanish fluently.
