About Me

Trying to always look on the bright side. I believe that novelty and discovery are the keys to happiness, so I try to keep that in mind all the time. Currently living in my hometown, so trying to act like a tourist here too!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love everything about the philosophy behind CS. Meeting new people; being exposed to all sorts of people, experiences, and ideas; making it easier for people to travel the world...!

I have couchsurfed in Switzerland, Austria, Iceland, and New Zealand and have met some great people who have shown me some fantastic things. I'm always pleasantly surprised by how open and generous everyone is!

I started hosting in 2014, and it has been so amazing. I met one of my best friends through CS and hope to make many more!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Pay it Forward, Short Term 12, The United States of Leland, Billy Elliot, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Better off Dead, The Truman Show, Shaun of the Dead, documentaries

Music: The Smiths, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Brand New, Sigur Rós, pretty much anything with violin

Books: The Giver, Fahrenheit 451, The Stranger, 1984, Brave New World, Pride and Prejudice, Animal Farm (yeah I know it's all the standard high school reading fare, what can I say), Bill Bryson

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending two days in the Sahara in Tunisia was fantastic.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think pretty much anything is awesome. I'm always up for exploring! I love learning new stuff, so pretty much *anything* you want to teach, I'd be so down to learn.

I can try to teach some piano, ukulele or (the smallest bit of) guitar. Let's trade playlists!

I'm kind of obsessed with language, and would love to attempt to converse with surfers in English, Spanish, French, or Italian.

I've hiked on virtually every trail that exists in my county. If you come visit me, I can take you on some good hikes and/or to some good beaches! If you're vegan, I will show you all the great spots!
