About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet new people, explore new cultures, and discover tasty new food.

ABOUT ME

I like to think of myself as a corporate sell-out who loves culture -- music, art, food, and dance. I really like my work, which is essentially a strategy consulting role. But when I'm not at work, I like to stay away from the computer, and soak up all the delicious food, great theatre, and wonderful music that makes New York City so amazing.

I'll rarely say no to an outing -- when given the chance to see a play, hear a band, visit a museum, attend some event in a park... I'm all for it. And if we can find some tasty food and drink afterwards? Even better. And maybe when I get home I'll practice a little bit of that Chopin nocturne on the piano I've been neglecting.

Talk to me about technology, the economy, gentrification, religion or anything else that comes to mind. Show me a new form of dance, or a new band or music genre. Teach me something about a new culture, or something else I didn't already know. And maybe I can introduce you to something new as well.

PHILOSOPHY

It seems rather silly to waste time watching the tv when there's always something new to learn or experience. I try to make sure that at the end of a year, I can always point to a new skill or new experience to show for it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to the community, but excited about showing people my favorite parts of New York City, and hopefully visiting some fellow couch surfers in other parts of the world.

Interests

Music -- Electronica, Pop, a wee bit of classical
FOOD! -- Anything that doesn't have olives or black licorice, and doesn't burn my mouth I'm excited to try (Korean, Hong Kong Style Chinese food, Good Thai food... so, apparently, Asian cuisine)
Technology -- I'm fascinated by start-ups which solve problems or bring people together in new ways.
