About Me

Hey everyone! I set this profile up a while ago but I'm only starting to use this for the first time now. I've hosted couch surfers for years (really, by word of mouth and not officially on this site) and have couch surfed myself in my travels. I'm originally from Utica, NY / Haudenosaunee Territory but have lived elsewhere across New York State, in NYC and Olympia, Washington. I work as an educator/adjunct professor (I teach history at Mohawk Valley Community College) and have worked as a union organizer. I've spent much of my free time over the years engaged in social movements (mostly the antiwar, labor and immigrant justice movements) and I believe that another, better, world is possible! I have so many interests: hiking in the Adirondack mountains, spending time with my four siblings (and twin sister) and all their children, reading, writing, running... I love meeting new people,

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've hosted couch surfers for years (really, by word of mouth and not officially on this site) and also couch surfed in the US and Canada. I set this account up in early 2020 for a trip planned around the world but covid cut my trip short.

Interests

I'm a member of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) union, I do some reporting for the community radio station WOOC in Troy, New York, I love minor league hockey and baseball, and I think it's awesome that I have a twin sister. I'm really passionate about social movements and social change and believe in creating a "world where many worlds fit." I hate borders and think we should do away with them.
