ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Budapest. I love my hometown with all its flaws. At the university I study Italian language and literature. I really don't know what I'm gonna do after the university so you can guess that I'm not that type of guy who has plans in his mind for years in advance, but that doesn't mean I'm absolutely spontaneous...

This is what I was telling about myself few years ago. the only thing that has changed since then is that I got my degree in Italian studies. Haven't been using it ever since and now I work in a shared service (office job) and in that I think I'm quite an average Hungarian with such a degree. In my free time I like to hang out with my friends, have long talks drinking beer (and when tipsy, I speak any language fluently, of course), go to cinema and lately to pub quizzes. Then I spend a considerable amount of time on the internet reading/watching/listening to stuff. I love Wikipedia and it's so wonderful being able to travel all around the world with the help of Google Earth Maps and Wikipedia and longing to visit those places once in your life.

Well, that's all I can say. I hate cover letters so feel free to ask; I think I open up quite easily.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, my first couchsurfing experience had nothing to do with CouchSurfing. Me and my friend were trying to get to the Adriatic Sea but we're stuck in a small Croatian town called Virovitica. We asked local people if they knew any hostel in town but they could only suggest a hotel in the city center... except one man who invited us in his flat. So we ended up couchsurfing in the flat of a complete stranger who even cooked us something for dinner at about 12:30 am. This in not the whole story but in few words this was my first experience of this kind that I'll never forget. More couchsurfing followed afterwards but this was a defining experience in how I think of couchsurfing and how much I trust people.

I love Wikipedia. Seriously, I spend a considerable amount of time on it looking after stuff I want to know more about. Hyperlinks are one of the worst inventions...

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I think I have a thing for sad/drama movies and sad songs. At least I can relate more easily to the feelings conveyed by these. But sometimes I like me some feel-good movies too like La La Land was this past year.

I said in my previous description that I mainly listen to mainstream artists but I think it's not necessarily true anymore. I like discovering new music either by being introduced to it by a friend or discover it for myself by chance. Many times however it is simply too late to get know these artists because they are either dead or not touring anymore (or they are not their old selves - think of Madonna). Also, I pretty much like to discover singers/musicians singing not in the English language even if I don't understand a word of the lyrics. It's a shame how much most radios and TVs neglect these artists that are not singing in the local language/English.

I'm not an avid reader but I do like to read whenever there's something that catches my interest for one reason or another. If I think about it, I prefer reading novels that are set in the past (i.e. in a time when I wasn't born yet). So far I liked everything I read by Thomas Mann and Amos Oz.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I've seen a lot of amazing things. Actually we can see amazing things almost every day but we need to live with eyes and mind wide open to discover them.

I bought weed in Rome with a friend. We were living our teenage days well into our twenties with my dear friend Boga. Looking back, it's a nice story.
