Overview
About Me
Nature loving, travel obsessed, Spanglish girl. British born, I grew up in the Basque Country before moving back to the UK at the age of 17; first to Ireland, then to Wales and finally I settled in the UK. One of my favourite games with strangers is "guess the accent"!!
My main hobby is horse riding. In fact, I was lucky enough to compete to a high level as a youth. As I've got older unfortunately work has taken over so I've had to settle for enjoying it at the weekends. As well as riding, I also enjoy going for long country walks with my dog Suki (who we found on the side of the motorway in Spain and decided to rescue), hiking up mountains, mountain biking, climbing and anything that generally involved fresh air.
My second biggest hobby is travelling. I never got the chance to go on a gap year so I now make the most of all my holidays to travel the world and explore new great locations. And I do travel, I love to meet locals to really get a sense of the culture and the cuisine (specially the cuisine!!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think it's a great opportunity to meet like minded individuals, who love to travel and share their experiences with others. I will be doing more solo travelling over the coming months and rather than staying in lonely hotels I thought it could share my travels with locals, learn about the culture from them and hopefully be able to share some of my own experiences with them too!
Equally, I live in a beautiful part of the UK, in the Northern Tip of the Cotswolds, an area not normally synonymous with cheap hotels or hostels, and as such I'd like to be able to invite like minded travellers to visit us so they can explore the beautiful rolling countryside.
Interests
When I'm not outside enjoying the fresh air, I love spending time with my husband, whether that be watching a movie, trying a new cuisine, or entertaining friends with a good murder mystery.

Music, Movies, and Books
One of my favourite authors has to be Jodie Picoult, who writes about very controversial subjects yet always manages to paint a really good picture of all the characters therefore really challenging any prejudices. 19 Minutes and The Storyteller would rank as some of my favourite books.
In regards to films I like anything that makes me think. Amongst my favourites have to be "Life is Beautiful" and (very unoriginal) Shawshank Redemption. We recently watched 3 Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri which we really enjoyed.
As for music, I have quite an eclectic taste however most played on Spotify would be latin and reggae infusions.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I believed in someone who everyone else told me I should mistrust. Together we built a school giving access to education to the kids of Kangbor. He turned out to be a very decent bloke and proved all the neysayers wrong.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn and I’ve always got 101 questions about different cultures, food, experiences. I can share my own experiences too!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories, smiles and a good bottle of wine!
