ABOUT ME

I love traveling and always try to get off the beaten track and meet the local people. I have really enjoyed seeing a wide view of the asian continent and chain of islands.

As an adult I felt the culture and temperature shock of Beijing in winter, walking on the frozen lake at the Summer Palace and climbing the Great Wall.

In contrast I've enjoyed the tropical warmth and opulence & luxury 5 star island resorts in Thailand, Indonesia and Fiji.

As a teenager exerienced the hilltribe villages surounded by poppy fields at Chiang Mai. The the opposite extreme of the class diversity in Thailand, at the luxury Yacht Clubs at Pattaya Beach, south of Bangkok in the Gulf of Thailand.

I love living in Byron and spend as much time as I can afford getting out and enjoying the beautiful environment. I surf, go camping, paddle my canoe and generally have a great life. I have friends that own farms around the area and go and visit them when I can.

I'm a country lad who grew up on a family property between an old fashioned outback town called Coonamble and a plush city school near Sydney.

The a holiday house was on the beach in Byron, back before the place had really taken off. It was a quiet little village in the eighties and not many people came here then. I've always loved Byron and wanted to move back here at the first opportunity, so I did.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can only take one or two people as the house is small. I like to have people to stay when I am not working so I can show them around.

Only one experience so far! Two beautiful German girls who were very nice and good fun too! Hi Caro & Anna!

Growing up in the Australian Outback on 11,000 acre property. Climbing the Great Wall of China and walking on the frozen lake at the Summer Palace. Racing a catamaran in the Gulf of Thailand. Living on a boat on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and fishing for food and snorkling.
