About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore more of Spain and to keep practising Spanish.

ABOUT ME

Well let's start from the beginning, I was born; I grew up.
I was in the British Army for 6 and a bit years, then I left to become a tree surgeon/climber. Did this for about one and a half years before changing direction once again to build luxury boats back in my home town. After another year and a half (there's a running theme here) I quit everything, and went travelling for 11 months, taking in New Zealand, Chile, Argentina and Bolivia along the way. I returned with my eyes wide open, but unfortunately back to square one.
A moment of inspiration to teach English as a foreign language has seen my life finally arrive at a period of stability and genuine happiness. I´m teaching in Santander, Spain at the moment and looking at this as a long term career.
I love keeping fit and simply being active. I have been keeping fit all my life, running, swimming, climbing, playing football, rugby and cricket. I love to try and push my physical limits and love reading about stories of physical endurance and the amazing things the human body can do.
Films and books are my other passion, especially those that stay with you for days after, sometimes weeks.
I could talk about football all day and night but I don't let it dominate my life, as I have got older I have realised that there are more important things. With getting older (the grey hairs are coming thick and fast, although I see this as a sign of wisdom) my ability to meet and socialise with new people has greatly improved and I guess this is one of the main reasons I joined this site.
I enjoy being in the mountains but feel equally at home in the city.
I love to eat, normally other people's food as my cooking is fairly average. Drinking wine and Gin, although not as a combination.
I guess my life wouldn't be worth living without music. I have it on constantly and without it I'm a little lost. I'm always looking to find new bands and go to gigs. Music soothes even the most savage beast.
Well that's me.

PHILOSOPHY

Never regret anything and don't be afraid to make mistakes. It's the only way we learn.
