About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To know as many places and people as possible before I find the place and the people that I never want to leave.
ABOUT ME
I am a recent college graduate who just spent the last six months or so travelling around the country doing work on organic farms.
PHILOSOPHY
Tell stories. Share stories. Read stories. Write stories. Dream stories.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am new to Couchsurfing, but I have always wanted to try it! I have been traveling with the help of AirBNB, and have met some incredible people that way. They've urged me to try Couchsurfing as well, and it seems like a great way to build community, so here I am!
Interests
I love reading, writing fiction, and exploring the outdoors and new places on foot. When I am in a new city for a few days, I like to forego driving or taking public transport and walk everywhere I need to go. (I recently was in New Orleans with my sister for a night, and realized that I could reliably show her around after having been there only a couple times before and walking it all! When I go on vacation with people, they know to bring their walking shoes!)
I am interested in healthy living, eating, and cooking. The farmers and gardeners I've met in the past few months have imparted to me a decent knowledge base about fruits, vegetables, chickens, goats, and so forth. I love to talk about eggs. My favorite section to check out in a new food store is their bulk spices section.

Music, Movies, and Books
Man oh man, trying to list all the music and books that interest me is like trying to enumerate all the people who have had an impact on my life!
Some of my favorite authors include Megan Mayhew Bergman, Lydia Davis, Wells Tower, Karen Russell, Lauren Groff, Aryn Kyle, Dorothy Allison, Nicole Krauss, Dorothy Parker, Lydia Peelle, and, of course, Flannery O'Connor.
Right now I'm reading We Need To Talk About Kevin, by Lionel Shriver, and I'm really loving her writing as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I met Mr. Rogers when I was a little girl. He came to see my sister and I at my aunt's house, and brought us little notes addressed especially to us. He was wearing a red cardigan and the shoes that he puts on when he is in his house in Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. Either he was very tall, or I was very small.
Teach, Learn, Share
I learned to knit as a seventh birthday gift of sorts from my grandmother, who had also learned at age seven. You bring the needles and the yarn, I'll bring the knowledge of twisting them together in pleasing ways! Oh, and I just learned to crochet, so we can suffer along together with that one.
I recently started brewing kombucha, and have been able to share the process and some daughter SCOBYs (the marvelous symbiotic colonies of bacteria and yeast that make sugar and tea into kombucha) with previous hosts.
