About Me

CURRENT MISSION

make new friends, try new foods, see the sunset in new places

ABOUT ME

We are a newly married couple who love adventure, exploring, learning and meeting new people.

PHILOSOPHY

I think if everyone risked putting someone else before themselves on a daily basis, all this world's problems would disappear and we'd have a world of people who care for and are cared for by one another. I'm not the best at it, but I'm working on it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We just got our own place for the first time in a couple years, so depending on our schedule, our couch is open for business.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience was with a 'spiritual community' in Savannah, GA. I stayed in a house with 25 other people who had dinner and a Hebrew folk dancing get-together the night we arrived and blew me away with their hospitality and graciousness. Now, I'm hooked on couchsurfing.

Interests

playing music, hiking, reading, eating and cooking new foods, dancing, snowshoeing, languages, cultures, learning how to say "thank you" in new languages (I'm up to over 60 now!), the outdoors, woodworking, disc golf, food trucks, knitting

Lost Horizon, Shadow of the Wind

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fall Creek Falls State Park in Tennessee - there was a freakish cold snap, so the water had frozen into cloud-like ice formations at the bottom and it looked like a different world!

Stayed with an indigenous family on an island in Lake Titicaca in Peru and they dressed me up in their traditional clothes and took me to a dance at the town hall.

Beached-hopped in Costa Rica in a VW van with 6 other people for a long weekend and saw the most incredible sunsets of my life.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Bolivia, Cambodia, Ecuador, France, Guatemala, India, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Nepal, Panama, Peru, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Chile, Costa Rica, South Korea, United States
