About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Make great memories.
ABOUT ME
When I was a little kid I realized the enormousness of the world would probably prevent me from ever seeing the entire thing. But that shouldn't keep me from trying, eh? I'm somewhere between a busy and lazy: getting to some new fantastic place, then relaxing, observing, soaking it up before picking up and continuing on.
Throughout life I've worn many hats to see which one fits best. I've enjoyed them all, but seek more! My absolute favorite, though, is my bicycle helmet. Cycling 30+ miles in an afternoon is par for the course. Want to ride to Florida? Hit me up!
You can expect me to treat your home like it was my own (a positive thing). Whether it means washing the dishes, tidying up the living room, tending to the garden or taking your dog for a walk, I love all that domestic stuff.
PHILOSOPHY
We are all but minor actors on a world stage, temporary inhabitants of a wonderful age, by no means the first or last, but one passed to us by our forbears before we pass it on to our own descendants. Be excellent stewards of Spaceship Earth!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Spread the word! The more people I can inspire and encourage to hit the road, explore strange new places and flounder in alien cultures, the more interesting people there are.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It's all good. Every bit. Not one single negative experience. My hosts have always been enormously generous, gracious and compassionate; true friends whom I'd otherwise never know. We've had some real adventures together as more than acquaintances, but accomplices!

Music, Movies, and Books
Invisble Man, Jitterbug Perfume, Blood Meridian, A Shropshire Lad, The Stone Raft, Piri Thomas poetry, David Foster Wallace "lite"
Akira Kurosawa films, Memento, The Dark Crystal, Baraka, Pedro Almodovar films, The Big Lebowski at the Red Vic in San Francisco, old school and cutting edge.
Bob Marley, Prokofiev, Rimsky-Korsakov, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Justice, Paul Oakenfold, Caravan Palace, John Digweed, Putamayo mixes. I could wake up in a tent at a Reggae festival, then listen to Metallica on my way to the opera.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Took a Greek train to a nowhere station that didn't exist so I could climb from the sandy seashore to the top of Mount Olympus...almost. Since there are five separate peaks at the top I was misguided and ascended the 2nd-highest, Stefani, which had a dazzling view of the Aegean Sea below. Zeus's Seat indeed.
Teach, Learn, Share
Got plants? Want them to thrive? Adjust to their pace and treat them as the living, breathing, drinking, growing beings they are. Seriously now, slow down, be patient, recognize that it´s life cycle doesn't adapt to us. The truest benefit of a relationship with plants is its calming influence.
