About Me

CURRENT MISSION Seeking unicorns and the color blue.

After 6 years of mostly hosting it is finally my turn to travel the world. My plan is to get from Morocco to Australia through the land (North Africa > Middle East > Central Asia > China or South East Asia > Australia).

Besides a unicorn protector I am a bit of a slacker. Although that's not so true anymore. I am a professional adult with a job and everything. But I quit my job to travel the world because I wanted to do that for a very, very long time.

I just like having nice conversations with people, especially over breakfast. I'm a nice guy even though sometimes I might act a bit stubborn, well nobody's perfect. Basically, I'm easy to get along with. I like food & am always down for a beer. I also like cooking, hence it is very probable that I will cook for my hosts. It can be anything from my special homemade pizza or quiche, to something really fancy & awesome if I feel like it, to something very basic if I’m feeling lazy. 😃 That being said, I always enjoy hosts who share my passion to cook as I'm eager to try new unexpected food.

PHILOSOPHY Beards and mustache for all.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Huh... Why am I here ?
Because I like cultural exchange, I am open minded and I love meeting up with locals !
DING ! DING ! DING ! There we have it ! The Couchsurfing dreaded triade ! The three buzzwords everyone has on his profile. Okay, so now what ? Do I win something ? No ? Okay...

All jokes aside: I really don't know anymore, habits, I guess ! I've been here since 2012, been surfing and hosting ever since. And also sharing is caring.

Interests

Well, of course, I'm interested in travels.

I love beer, I really have a passion for this beverage of the Gods. As a French dude I'm required to love wine and good food.

I work in IT so technology is a big thing for me and anything that's internet related.

Other interests may include : Neuroscience, consciousness, philosophy, tech, privacy matters on the internet (I could explain to you how much it is easy to manipulate you with just the right data), optimism & positivity, Rak (which is a concept I invented: Random acts of kindness), and last but not least chillin like a villain.

Music, Movies, and Books

In terms of music it's pretty easy, I'm a big Rock n' Roll fan: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Guns N' Roses (Huge fan), Aerosmith and other classical rockband. I also like more recent stuff like: The Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, The White Stripes, The Black Keys.

I'm also into hip-hop, I'm not gonna specify each one of them cause there's a lot but if you're into Snoop Dogg we'll get along for shizzle. 😉

Lately, I tried to expand my horizons though, so now there's a little bit of jazz, soul, folk music and electro music in my playlists.

As for books, usually I read non-fiction even though I'm always down to read a classic novel. I recently got into philosophy and started a big project : read the entire history of western philosophy. Currently I'm still reading through the Greeks philosophers ; only two thousand years to finish ! 😁

I also read a lot of long form articles (aeon.co is my favorite source for that, if you don't know it, check it out, it’s pretty rad.) regarding different topics. What I really like about those is that they really help me question the world. Sometimes I like to read a comic, especially Batman.

About movies, I know it's a big let down but I don't really watch movies. #Sorrynotsorry

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess walking down the Grand Canyon with a friend with no preparation whatsoever was kind of cool.

Also, the first time I went to New York was quite crazy, I was 17, didn't know anything about the city and I was strictly forbidden to go, but I had a fun time. :p Though it's kind of long story, I guess, if you ever com visit I'll tell you the whole story.

But I'm not a man of the past, no matter how amazing some of my experiences were, I keep looking and working onwards to the next one. 😀
