ABOUT ME

I am an outdoor enthusiast. I have several recreational hobbies, including, but not limited to: hiking, backpacking, paddling, biking, skiing, and scuba diving. I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee and racquet sports. Since I travel to wonderful places and experience nature at its best, I'm hope to improve my photography and writing skills. You can check out my blog at www.naturetravelerblog.com. In regards to volunteer work, I currently volunteer with Appalachian Trail maintenance and testing local creek water quality.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been a recreational trip leader for various organizations over the past 12 years. I'm not sure why I enjoy taking folks out. Maybe I find it satisfying to share and introduce people to the beautiful area surrounding me. Or maybe I enjoy meeting people and learning about their homeland and culture (since I'm located in a college town, I meet a lot of international people). Either way, I'm excited for the opportunity to host travelers and share my knowledge and experiences with them as well.

At the same time, I'm excited to meet hosts in other countries. I think this is an excellent way to learn about local cultures instead of experiencing an Americanized hotel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted twice for brief stays that were enjoyable. I have not surfed yet.
