About Me

Im a reading and writing people person. Ideas and good conversation is my trade. Once upon a time I had a job as a project engineer for a large conglomerate that sent me around the world. It popped the bubble I was living in. All the unplanned and unexpected people, places, food and music opened me right up. Since moving to San Diego, I haven't explored much and figured this would be a way to add that element of mystery and surprise to life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To add an element of unknown to my week. To shake up my comfort zone. To connect with new people and spark interesting moments that wouldn't be able to happen without asking. Couchsurfing has been that "sounds nice, would love to try it...when I have some time" sorta thing. Recently read The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer. The book gave me a mirror to look at what really mattered. Connecting with you whoever you are, wherever you may be is exactly what matters.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived and worked in South Africa for a year (2013-2014). One of those time dilation moments, where 1 year feels like 10.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I know enough now that the easiest way to sum up my knowledge is I don't know much.
Taught myself to juggle recently. I can definitely teach you if I can learn. There will be lots of drops, it's all part of the learning curve. Can't wait to see your face light up when you get it.
I read widely, feel deeply, and dream big. I can share ideas, points of view, and some music that gets me to move.

Learn:
I'd like to learn card tricks, jokes, and whatever new story telling methods you have to share.

Share:
I can share stories
I can share improv warmups that will get you pumping out creative ideas
I can share a mean brussel sprout recipe (if brussel sprouts are your thing. They weren't mine until I had them with whole grain mustard and maple syrup)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A challenging backgammon, chess, or card game opponent. Improv comedy techniques for firing up creativity. Stories from life and travel. An interested listener.
