About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel, travel, travel....

ABOUT ME

I live in the US but due to my father's occupation, I lived overseas until I was 13 years old. I've lived in Japan, England, the Phillipines, Crete and North Africa.
I have been a therapist for nearly 20 years and am completing my PhD in neuropsychology. And the more I learn in school, the more I realize how much I don't know and will never know...but it's fun to try!
I believe exposure to other cultures is the most important aspect of living a full and meaningful life and it's a shame some people never experience the lives of others different than themselves. I currently teach English overseas, a job that allows me to travel and work at the same time.

PHILOSOPHY

Do not seek the Path to Peace; instead, find Peace first and the Path will reveal itself to you.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: The Killers; Franz Ferdinand; Cake; Beethoven; Miles Davis; Eric Clapton and, of course, The Beatles and 60's British Invasion rock. Movies: "Lost in Translation"; "To Have and Have Not"; "Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2". Books: I read so many technical books for my job, it's hard to let go and relax with a good work of fiction. I enjoy reading about history and philosophy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the 1960's, my parents once trusted a Greek taxi driver to look after me for several hours when I was 6 months old while they climbed the Acropolis in Athens. My parent's generation represents a generation of trust in others and other cultures that, sadly, is rare today.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach anyone to play the guitar. I want to learn as many foreign languages as I can.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Cayman Islands, France, Greece, Libya, Mexico, Netherlands, Puerto Rico

Countries I’ve Lived In

Greece, Japan, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom, United States
