ABOUT ME

Adventurous but easy going

PHILOSOPHY

I would like to think that in my last moments of life I could reflect upon my life and smile..... This being dependent on a reasoned sense of my cumulative life contributions and degradations. IF I have lived in the green and left the world a better place, beyond a reasonable doubt, especially for those I love, THEN I think there is little that could impede ultimate satisfaction.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Seems like my profile has suffered from a previous CS update, as it is incomplete and missing some of my guests and hosts...

I am always trying to be aware of opportunities to make the project run smoother and more efficiently. I have sent some suggestions into the developers, I am particularly interested in finding ways to make the use of mobile phones as easy as possible while on the road. I am also considering pressing forth with a film/documentary that incorporates couchsurfing. I hope to be able to add more in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am no stranger to other peoples couches, whether it be a crash pad after a night on the town, or simply a rest stop on my perpetual hunt for purpose. I appreciate the ability to meet someone on their own turf and have an opportunity to experience a new place and a new person at the same time. When I get resettled I will happily host some more surfers and try to help keep spreading the love.

Interests

My major interest at the moment is social entrepreneurship. I am interested in anything to some degree, but my attention span often prods me to explore new things faster than I can choose what to do next, that is why I like adventures like couchsurfing because they offer many new perspectives from many insightful people, in short intense bursts.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all three, especially when they correspond to the mood I am in and the mood I want to become. If they offer something new and provide some sort of insight and knowledge then I am gratified.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am trying to keep my experiences within the bounds of this trip, but:
* one of my best friends get married on the beach
* Sunset over Sea of Cortez
* a Mexican clinic
* sleeping on the roof of a mexican bungalow with the sound of gangs of dogs fighting.
* thirty-some strangers bonding in the early morning over the hassles and joys of long distance bus travel
* Some hill overlooking Tempe-Phoenix as the sun set and a trail of airliners flew overhead.
* the sequoias of northern cali
* homeless people pushing 3plus shopping carts of "personal treasures" down the street in the dusk of downtown LA.

Teach, Learn, Share

I consider myself an aspiring knowledge engineer and am always on lookout for new perspectives and best practices. I have an eclectic set of interests and am driven by the notion that more interdisciplinary collaboration can take place and knowledge can then be distributed in a more user friendly and efficient manner. I have recently discovered the field of AI and have found it to be a good platform for organizing intellectual insight. I am a dabbler in much but an expert in little. If other people have big ideas I enjoy hearing them and am often told that I am an excellent source of alternative views and considerations. I like to ask questions but am often uncomfortable giving supposed answers.
