À propos de moi

[FYI: I am not accepting guests because I am nomad at the moment, so I have no place to host]

Italian born and raised but I have always felt a deep connection with the entire globe: citizen of the world, if you will.
I have a law degree and a environmental background. While studying I had the opportunity to live aborad multiple times and that allowed me to understand that my element is in the movement, learning languages and new cultures.
I like to get out there outside of my comfort zone. That's why I am on a new chapter of my life, after working and being in the exhausting capitalistic office world, I need to take time for myself and being in my element: travelling. This time I want to experience and fully live the ocean world, that's why I have spent the last year sailing, from Canaries to Colombia. And now it's time to explore South America. I would love to volunteer in some projects related to agriculture, bioconstruction, teaching in exchange for food and accomodation. My dream here is also to get in contact with some indigenous community, learn ancestral knowledge and do activism to resist against exploitative corporations

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I think it one of the best way to travel and to meet people, especially when I travel alone or when I don't have enough money to pay an accommodation. I love this concept of sharing what we have: a couch (in some lucky times even a bed) but also stories, experiences, passions, thoughts. Sometimes I feel more closed and free to talk to a stranger than to a friend. Moreover what I experienced in the last few years is that sometimes, with this casual meeting, you can find someone with whom you built a great friendship: simple and true, even if you shared just a few days and you have seen each other just three times in your life. I truly believed that from this kind of meeting, something wonderful can come up.

Centres d'intérêt

About my interests: it's more than 10 years that I do dance, in the last few years I dedicated myself at contemporary style (that not many people know so I'm more than happy to explain you what it is if we will ever meet!). Dance is something that no matter where I move, I always try to find. I just can't stay without it. I don't dream to be a professional dancer but it's a way to express myself, to shut my mouth for once and let my body talks. It's always challenging, dancer teachers are all crazy and different from "normal" people let's say.
In the last years I have also fell in love with aerial tissue and aerial acrobatic in general, I love heights and dancing in the air.
Then I definitely love food: cooking it, growing it, eating it. Since I "flew the nest" I had to provide to myself and from this basic need I discover a more deeply interest. I don't want to sound hippie/alternative but I absolutely think that in this particular time of the human history our food choices, or shopping choices can make the difference. Buy a local, organic, maybe bio product, or an imported one (like coffee or chocolate) but knowing they were growth in plantations where the workers are not treated as slaves (because, yes, slavery it's still alive unfortunately, it's hidden everywhere, we just don't want to face it), so in a fair trade condition can change the rules of this world based on money. It's not easy do responsible choices, eco-friendly and human-friendly but I think every person should at least, be aware that the problem exists and try to change a little piece of his routine and make a sustainable choice.

Living more simply does not mean deprivation or hardship. It means being content with what is sufficient, and seeking enjoyment from non-material pursuits. Living in ways that are frugal and that minimize resource use should not be seen as a burden or sacrifice that must be made to save the planet. These ways can be sources of great life satisfaction.
Neither does it mean turning our backs on the modern world. The Simpler Way would let us keep all the high-tech ways that are socially desirable. We would have far more resources for science, research, education and the arts than we have now because we would have stopped wasting vast amounts of resources on non-necessities.

Obviously at present the chances of such a transition being achieved are very poor. But the global situation is rapidly deteriorating and increasing numbers are realizing that consumer-capitalism is not going to solve our problems.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

I can share my travel experiences, my cooking abilities (my specialties are the risotto, the lasagna with my vegan Bolognese sauce slow cooked), and I love do a simple apéro: a beer and a good conversation on whatever subject.
