ABOUT ME

Aspiring opera singer, profoundly silly, cat lover. Doesn't like complete sentences. Frank and concise, outdoorsy, writer, editor, and recovering procrastinator. I like to make up silly songs about life. I have two degrees in Advertising and Philosophy. I consider myself a happy existentialist- life is what you make of it. Optimism is a calculated decision for me because it yields better outcomes than negativity. I make a point to only buy food and products that were produced in a humane and sustainable way, although I don't always practice what I preach.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few of my friends host couch surfers, and so I have had some really fun experiences getting to meet visitors from all over the world.

Interests

Singing, composing, cooking, poetry (writing and reading), meditation. My favorite music to sing comes out of the French Impressionist persuasion. I like wildlife watching, canoeing, swimming, hiking and anything outdoors. Healthy eating and living are very important to me, and I hope one day to pair down and live more simply. I also like lifting heavy things and used to be able to deadlift 230lbs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was a child, I went to Scandinavia with my father. Driving through Norway along the coast, I saw the sunset over the water at a point where half the water was ice and half was liquid.

About two years ago when I was tubing down the Chipola River (in the back country) I realized that there were several water moccasins in the water with us. I kept my mouth shut so no one in my party would panic and attract their attention, but I had such a heightened state of awareness for about 30 minutes that really stuck with me.
