I'm a easy going girl who loves to meet to people and have nice random conversations!
I was born and raised in Pisa, and did my bachelor in chemistry here.
I moved to Bologna to study for my masters, and I really loved it there!
I stayed in Singapore for one year as a Research Associate, and loved it there as well, mainly for the people I had the privilege to hang out with.
Now I'm taking a break to figure out what I would like to do next, and I would like to travel in the meanwhile!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I realized that I didn't travel in Europe that much, as I went mainly in the big capitals of the countries, as a tourist.
I would like to expand my knowledge of Europe, also getting to know better the people that compose it.

Interests

I love, love, love to dance.
I like to listen to concerts, either classical or modern ones. I sang for a few years, not continuously, in choirs.
I was in a theater group throughout my high-school years, and a bit during university. i think it contributed a lot to the formation of my personality!
I also did two years of improv theater in italian and a small course in English, while in Singapore (it was tough, but it helped me improve my fluency a lot!!)
I like to cook, and love to bake.
I've always liked languages. I studied German during high-school, but then lost most of it due to the passing of time without practice!

Music, Movies, and Books

I can listen to nearly every kind of music, especially to the one that makes me want to dance! Some favorite artists that come to my mind are The Beatles, The Radiohead and The Queen. Some Italian songwriters I love are Fabrizio De Andre', Francesco Guccini and Vinicio Capossela.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in Singapore for one year the way I did.
I didn't travel around as much as I should have, but I have no regrets on how I spent my time meeting people, trying to learn the most I could from cultures of places I've never been to, and more generally having fun with people from all over the world!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can definitely teach you to cook pasta the italian way!
I can teach the basic steps of salsa, but I never learned how to lead as men do, so I'm not fit for proper teaching.
I can teach you or some of your friends some basic chemistry, in case you need help for an exam. I'm particularly good at organic chemistry, since it was my subject during my masters.

Whatever kind of dance you know, I would like to learn a few steps!
If you practice Yoga, I would love to practice with you! I just tried it a couple times, and felt so much better afterwards.
I'd also like to learn how to cook something typical from your place.
I will always be happy if you teach me something of your language or culture.

We can talk in Italian! Or in English! Or in German (but I will mostly listen, I'm afraid)!
We can go together dancing, either in a club or a salsa club or a village festival, or an indian festival (loved it when I did it) or something I can't even think of but I'm sure I will be excited when I hear of it!
We can go to a concert together!
We can go for walks while chatting about the best dishes ever, and then cook them at home!

We can also stay separated all day, I enjoy time by myself, I actually need it sometimes. So if you're not up for any of the activities mentioned above, don't worry, I will not make myself a problem.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my time. As strange as it might sound, I really like to tidy up rooms and cupboards. So if you never ever found the time to tidy up that closet, and are willing to do so with an italian girl, I'm the right one!
Whatever help you might need with the house, I will help if I'm capable.

I can cook pasta: carbonara, aglio olio e peperoncino, a simple pasta with vegetables or whatever comes to our minds (except mayonnaise and ketchup, those are taboos for italians)!
I can also prepare desserts: tiramisu, chocolate cake, apple crumble, muffins, biscuits, you can choose!
