About Me

Hey there! My name is Beatriz, I'm 20 year old and i am from Brazil, i am a travel lover who just joined the couchsurfing community. I am a international relations and design student at the University of lisbon, living in Portugal for 6 months now and have at last more 2 and half to go.

Its important to know about me that i am a relly open-minded talkctive person ( i talk alotttt) that love to have conversations about life, random things and the craziest subjects ever. I love doing hikings, exploring new places, dancing and drinking a good beer.

There is many other things i can say about myself but i would rather say to you in person.

Ohhh and i almost forgot i love good jokes and i am always smilling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a art and culture lover i belive that the best way to get to know a country better is by meeting the people who live in it, for me travelling has noting to do with giving checkin in all touristics places and rushing from one country to another. For me travelling is about rediscover yourself several times, exchanging cultural habits, revisiting old opinions and learning.

In this new phase living in europe i want to get to know different kinds of people outside my confort zone wich i can share my knowledges and also learn something from. Also sharing a beer and good laughter =).
i do belive that the couchsurfing community is perfect for that and to experience my destination the fullest.

Music, Movies, and Books

i am relaly ecletic when it comes to my tasts in music, reading and in life as a role . I personally love indie rock and classic rock, brasilian music, jazz and r&b. The bands and artists that inspired me most are pink floyd, legião urbana,Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Joe cocker, Janis Joplin, cazuza, B. B. King, Gabriel o pensador and many others.

For a humanities studant books are our best friends especially the ones about political theories, history sociology and feminism. In the moment the ones i am more in to are Nineteen Eighty-Four, Brave New World; Man, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, the State, and War and lemente und Ursprünge totaler Herrschaft =) ( also looking for good books recomendations)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked in the Rio 2016 games where i had the opportunity to meet many athletes and different types of people. It was one of the best time of my life being able to help in this amazing event.

Also i did a 3 weeks solo backpacking in California where i decided it was time to explore other parts of the world the best i can.

Oh and to add a crazy twist in it, i jumped from a parachute after my best friend's graduation party ( I swear i am normal)

Teach, Learn, Share

Well there are many many things that i want to learn and share. I am personally really interested in culture and arts and any subject related to that calls my attantion, i would love to share knowledge in this area and who knows to develop collaborative arts in conjunction with future hosts to enter into personal project of representing each place visited through a piece of art developed with a local resident.

I am also interested in learning about vegan cuisine, yoga and playing the guittar ( subject that i know nothing about ahah) and music.

I am open to new experiences and new challenges so in general, as part of the motives that lead me to couchsurfing i would to experience new things.

Also, as an international relations studant writting, learning and reading about the globalized world, international affais, economy, human rigths and social affais are my passion and a huge interrested of mine so teaching, colaborating and learning about this topics would be fantastic too.

I also do aerial silks and did gyminastics for over 8 years so anything sport related suth as hikings, other sports, and ecoturism sounds fantastic to me.

In the end the best way to learn is learn from each other.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can do a little of alot different stuffs and would love to share them. I can cook really diverse vegan meals including awesome black brasilian beans and some really good brasilian Caipirinhas and would be more tham happy to share it. Apart from that i can share some knowledgs of photoshoop and illustrator and some manual arts knowleges in general, as drawing and painting.

As a Brasilian i can also give Portuguese ( and SAMBA!!!) classes for thoose interested and also some brief english lesson as i am fluent in it. More than that i have many other random and interrested and general knowleged from global culture, arts, politcs, music and other subjects that i would love to exchange in conversations between beers cups.
