About Me

ABOUT ME

(Sorry for my english, I talk very well, but my writing is not that good)

My biggest passion is get to know people, but most of all, people from other places, far away from where I wasborn. The most I get to know different people, the most I learn about the world and discover elements to reach my own self-knowlegde.
When I went to highshool, I did a nurse-assistent class at the same time, so I started to work in hospitals. This was the beginning of my passion for health and care, science and medicine. One year after, I started medschool, and right now I'm in the halfway of my graduation: 3 more years ahead. I'm completly happy with my choice. I'm also envolved with many social moviments, as student moviment, moviments for human rights, politics activities - this area is one of the most important in my life!
I was not always a reader, but in the past 2 years I discovered this whole word in books and now I'm addicted. I love poetry, romance, non-fiction books, philosophy, politic science, economy - a lot of stuff! I love to share my reading with others, and the other way around too. I think I couldnt live without music, music is pretty much everything! If you get to see me, you'll see that I'm always with my earphones around. I love to share music too!
I'm talking about what I love because I think that tells a lot about me, but I have to say that I'm in the middle of the endless journey called "self knowledge" - in my opinion, thats the goal! Traveling is a intense way to put yourself in different realities and scenarios that may be tools for that journey.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recelently moved to one of the most visited city in Brazil (because of the waterfalls) - Foz do Iguaçu! I intend to recive people, since I have this privillege. And also, in a few weeks I'll be travelling around Peru and Bolivia, I want to meet local people, make friends, change life experience (even though I'm very young, rs).

Interests

I really like to enjoy open places, nature, music, study about politics, history and feminism. I'm also very interested in human relatioships - so far, they seem pretty much always very complex, I intend to understand some mechanisms (inside myself) throughout my life. We are social criatures, I think understanding our relations can be a key for a better life (see, I dont say happier, because I understant that trying to know this things can be very painfull, but I think it worth it).

Music, Movies, and Books

In poetry, I love Neruda, Drummond, Bertolt Brecht, Fernando Pessoa, Mario Quintana. Marcus Mazieri (he is a very talented guy from my city, I really like his poems), Elton Genari (another talented writter friend of mine) - I'm crawling in poetry world, I would love some recomentations!

Some of my recently favorite books: Brave New World (Aldous Huxley), Quase Memória (Carlos Cony), Amor e outros demonios (Gabriel Garcia Marquez), Mulheres que correm com os lobos (Clarissa Pinkola Estés) ...

I have a LOOOT of films that I love, but the most recent ones: Capitain Fantastic (JUST LOVED!!), Her, The Danish Girl, Me before you, ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most amazing things I did were situations I lived that I could learn a lot - like taking care of my family in difficult moments (happy and sad moments), as my grandpa's disease, when I learned a lot from him about strenght, love, will ... and also when my sister was born, my mom and I where alone, was a very difficult moment.
One recent moment that I had that was incredible was a experience of mine with Ayahuasca medicine - intense moment of self knowledge!
Other things I did that I consider importat were moments that I participated in political mobilizations with thousand of people in the streets of my country fighting for our rights - or trying. Most of the times, we were defeated, but the feeling of unity among the people is something that remains and that, I believe, will someday result in something greater.
