ABOUT ME

i am a fairly laid back happy Australian guy. Grew up in A small surf town on the east coast of Australia. We are lucky where I come from, Beautiful mountains, rivers and isolated beaches... Still always travelling and exploring! I Love culture and music. I have worked and volunteered at music festivals around Australia, and love to party when the time is right. I don't smoke but don't mind a cold beer. I am connected to the outdoors and have spent time trekking and exploring in some really special places... I guess its hard to describe myself I will try and put more photos up so you get a better idea.

PHILOSOPHY

I think my outlook on life is pretty down to earth. Love to spend my time laughing and joking around. I try not to care too much about superficial things... A simple pleasures kind of guy. I have quite strong environmental values. All my family is quite creative and not very stereotypical I guess...I try to always be happy, be free and keep on learning. Life's a playground really.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm always one to show travellers around and have had the favour returned many times... unofficial couch surfing I guess. Looking forward to the coming year! travelling through south, central and north america, canada, alaska, europe and hopefully Africa...exciting times ahead!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm very new to Couch surfing, but watch this space! I have always heard it existed but finally decided to get involved...So I'm hopefully heading to a couch near you.

Too many interests to mention: Trekking, rock climbing, sea Kayaking, sailing, free diving, spear fishing, cooking, reading, camping, four wheel driving.... Parties and live music, clubbing and music festivals....moustache growing competitions, air guitar championships, novelty tattoos, bad humour, whisky appreciation clubs. haha.I also volunteer teaching english at my local University and I help with conservation projects as a scuba diver conducting fish surveys and marine cleanups at dive sites off the coast. The natural world in general excites me!

I like a lot of art house films as well as a good block buster. I am really into many many styles of music. Australian indy bands as well as alternative rock and folk, soul etc. Think Tom waits, Nick Cave, Band of horses, Bon Iver, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen. Also love electronic music, Dub, ragga, Drum and Bass, reggae, hip hop and world music..... Its great to chat about different musical interests when travelling abroad.

Climbing the Annapurna mountain range in Nepal and then sharing shots of whisky over 5000metres above sea level was pretty epic.

white water Rafting and Bungie jumping, sky diving... All my travels have been amazing in their own right I suppose.

I am really interested in language exchange.. I hope to be almost fluent in spanish by the end of next year...(still a long way to go!). Cant wait to spent at least ten months in south and central america. Really hoping to be sailing next year as well. I grew up in the sea and would love to learn more skills involving sail boats. I have just done a maritime course to try and get work on yachts (STCW 95).... life and travel can teach more than University ever could!
