About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get back to a place where I can start hosting couchsurfers again as soon as possible!

ABOUT ME

I think they'd say I'm funny and witty, and occasionally insightful. Acquaintances might say I'm quiet. Close friends might say sometimes I'm too loud. Hopefully, all would say that I'm laid back, interesting, and comfortable in just about any setting :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I haven't done many amazing things, but there are a few special experiences. I've gone to the barber shop and the lumber yard and the livestock auction with my dad and pawpaw on Saturday mornings as a kid. I've spent summers at my late grandparent's place in beautiful southern Arkansas picking tomatoes, shelling peas, and playing with cousins. I went to Texas A&M University, which is an amazing experience in itself, where I met the closest friends of my life, and shared many meals, and late night chats while puffing pipes. I have seen many brilliantly starlight nights in the Sahara Desert, I have seen sandstorms roll across the openness in the evening, and the sun rise over the dunes in the morning. I have bathed in hot springs at the top of extinct volcanoes in southern Kyushu, Japan with swaying bamboo around me and freshly planted rice fields below. I have met some incredibly brave men in central Nigeria. I have watched dust storms roll across the deserts of SE Morocco, and watched the sun rise over the dunes. I have seen the refugee tent camps in Haiti and the rubble of Port-au-Prince, and have swam out into the Caribbean sea at dawn to watch the sun rise over the mountains. I have spent many afternoons and evenings swimming in Barton Springs in Austin, Tx. I have shared lots of laughter and quality time and love with people in these places.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to learn how to say "Cheers!", or whatever you say before you drink, in the languages of whoever I end up hosting.
