To experience anything and everything I can. Be it culture, music, friendship, love, food, philosophy, spirituality, I'm always looking for ways to stretch myself.

ABOUT ME

I'm an electrical engineer in Austin, TX, currently working for the company the operates the states electric grid. Though I'm an artist at heart. I also love foreign languages, and I studied Mandarin Chinese for 4 years and spent a year abroad in Shanghai!

PHILOSOPHY

Impossible to narrow down in a small space like this. I'm a spiritual person, but have never personally felt an affinity with any organized religion. I believe everyone needs to find their own enlightenment or truth. Moreover, I believe humankind (at this point anyway) is incapable of truly and deeply comprehending the deepest truths (infinity, time, etc). I think each person must, through his/her life's journey, develop their own abstract perception on all these things. Most importantly I think every person needs to allow others this freedom with a kind, giving, forgiving and open heart.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've gotten to meet amazing people in Europe and (most recently) India that have taken travel for me and my travel buddy Andy to another level. Connecting with locals and getting a glimpse of their everyday life is so much more fulfilling than being a tourist in a hotel. I'm hoping to connect with people and maybe make some lifelong connections.
Afterword, I would love the opportunity to offer a couch to other travelers coming to Austin. I am till getting set up in my new house but soon I'll finally have a great guest room to share.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent three weeks traveling through Europe (Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Italy) in 2010 with my close friend Andy. I can't have asked for a better experience. Everyone we met was incredibly generous, and we made some connections that I hope will last years. Many of our friends left feedback on Andy's page.
