About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel around Brazil, learn more about sustainability and the environment
ABOUT ME
I would like to say that I was raised by a family of puffins or that I invented the question mark but my story begins in London hospital where I was born along with my fraternal twin, Miles. I grew up in Surrey and have been fortunate enough to travel around the world with my parents .
In 2014 I embarked on a trip to Brazil with my best friend Tom starting in Salvador. Once we arrived I met up with my girlfriend, Caitlin, who was working for the Institute of Permaculture for the year. From there our rough itinerary was rapidly rewritten and we travelled across lots of this amazing country. We ended up extending our trip and visited Northern Argentina, spent nearly a month in Bolivia before popping into Machu Pichu before flying home from Lima. It was an incredibly rich and educational experience for me and not a day goes by without thinking about I experienced.
Now I work for a youth development charity that run purposeful adventures for young people. Our trips have a scientific focus and I was fortunate enough to visit South America again this year and spend over a month in the Peruvian Amazon sleeping under the canopy in a hammock whilst conducting fieldwork that will contribute to the Crees Foundation. I travel around schools and colleges across the UK and give inspirational presentations to raise awareness about the opportunities available to young people and why they should get out of their comfort zone.
PHILOSOPHY
To continue to grow as a person, whether that it be tasting a new food, practising a new skill (desperately trying to learn Portuguese), going on an adventure. Life is too short and precious to spend it sitting around!
I have recently began learning about Stoicism and is something I wish to learn more about.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I spent a week couchsurfing in Curitiba in Brazil and was welcomed in by a wonderful host and his family. Before that, I spent two weeks at Fazenda Puravida on the Rio Contas in Itacare. Two weeks, off the grid, waking with the sun and helping construct an eco-home. It was spectacular. Every evening we headed down to river for a swim before starting to cook our communal dinners.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going wild swimming in Dartmoor, Devon. I spent the day down there with my housemates splashing around, floating carelessly along the river.
Travelling to Lisbon and leaving my suitcase at home - amazingly stupid but it made for a good story and an interesting weekend!
I did an internship in sustainability at Reading Festival, I got to learn so much about how events are run, met incredible people and got to drive around the site in a buggy when no one was there!
Seeing The xx and Nile Rogers at the Eden Project last summer was pretty special!
