Friends call me Beavs or Alex or whatever they feel like because they know I'll respond - I'm a great listener! I've been traversing this planet for a few years now, with the goal of seeing the world and the people in it, and saving a bit of cash for graduate school. What I really got is a whole lot of perspective :)

I like to dance badly to any kind of music - it makes me laugh and my best friends taught me how (except they always look awesome on the dance floor). I could spend hours with old friends or new, but I would equally enjoy this time throwing a tennis ball and giving belly scratches to a big, slobbery dog. Music festivals, cooking, my family and friends, making additions to my family and friends - these are a few of my favorite things. I'm also excellent at kicking it with my feet up, and I thrive after an hour nap.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I finally (and hopefully) return stateside this summer, I'll be roadtripping with two of the best people in the world across America. And well, we'll need some couches. We will provide the hugs, laughs, and friendship!

Finding happiness, maintaining it, & providing it for others. I want to make others know and understand what good I see in them...this is incredibly important to me.
Trying to be a solid person/friend/lover/sister/daughter/teacher/hunter/gatherer... what?? I don't know, I just threw those last two in there to mess with ya.
Eating everything! Attempting to cook things that are palatable.
Physical activity where I don't realize I'm working out because I'm having so much damn fun - volleyball, horseback riding, & frisbee especially!

Live music of any kind is my jam. I've got tons of respect for the art of music!!!! Play on!!

Non-fiction...I want to know who did what and why, and then I want to talk about it with people! Ya know, people are fascinating. There are all types in this world - some manage to accomplish the most incredible, seemingly impossible feats, while others make some horribly f-ed up choices. I want to understand.

Could watch movies/tv shows all day. I love that I'm living in a time with high budget television!

I mean, the bottom line is that nothing I have done in my life could be considered amazing if it weren't for the people I've met and shared those experiences with. Hats off to them.
