About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Ongoing: to nuture real human connection. Most recently: survive Europe. Hopefully: to finish Infite Jest by David Foster Wallace

ABOUT ME

I woke up one day and decided to leave the country. Now that I'm older, travel plans have become more calculated. Part of the joy of traveling comes from the daily challenges that arise. The other part is meeting unforgettable people. Some people collect antiques, or records. I collect experiences. I wish I could eat myself around the world. I love food, I love cooking. I also have a bizarre affinity for moss, liverwort, and lichen.

PHILOSOPHY

Dream big. Expect more. Never settle. Slow down.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to this. I hope to someday meet many amazing people, and drink tea with them in my dining room, listen to old records, and exchange stories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, but I hope my future is full of positive experiences. I'm excited to meet new people, and create connections with those that I host and those that host me.

Interests

old books, electronic music, dancing until I can't breathe, moss, fancy meals, vintage everything, yoga, bikes, baking, cooking, sewing, and new socks.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: any pre-code films (Our Dancing Daughters, Bringing Up Baby) anything with Cary Grant in it. Independent films.
Music: currently digging on John Maus, Fleet Foxes, Serge Gainsbourg, Massive Attack, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Neil Young, Yann Tiersen, Lykke Li, Patsy Cline

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Machu Picchu is a Peruvian playground. My train ran over a cow in Argentina. They all started chanting "asado asado." I witnessed a student button his pants for the first time. This was a HUGE struggle for my student, three years in the making. Basically, everyday working with kids with disabilities is amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I feel that it is unfair to summarize the kind of people I enjoy. Experience has shown that the most unlikely people may teach you something. Lessons can be learned from experienced travelers or cab drivers. In fact, I've actually learned some really profound life lessons from cab drivers. They should get paid more.

Countries I’ve Visited

Chile, New Zealand, Peru, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In

Argentina, United States
