About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make Europe a better place - I ran as Green Party candidate for the European Parliament in 2014+2019 - with people from all pro-european political backgrounds. Currently (2020) member of the Executive Board of the Union of European Federalists UEF

ABOUT ME

All about me? See Google - or another search engine of your choice. I'm not hard to find :-)

Besides XING or LinkedIn for business I'm on Facebook (for political and personal contacts) and for old fashioned interest in me as a person I even still keep (and sometimes update) a LiveJournal.

((Probably important: Vegetarian (non-missonary and cheese-loving) and non-smoker. I will not necessarily mind if you eat meat in my presence (not at all if you eat cold meat), I'll just not eat or serve any myself.))

PHILOSOPHY

"We're all in this together"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

If you visit for an hour, a nice cup of tea, a night or a week - bring a book and/or take one with you. Books want to travel as well - and we are into BookCrossing ( http://www.bookcrossing.com ) since 2004.

If you're having me as a guest, feel free to ask for any number of my available books from my bookcrossing shelf to bring along.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had a very nice CS meeting in Tuebingen up to now inside CouchSurfing - and a first stay in Frankfurt/Oder in September 2011. But I've (we have, being 5 people living together since 2003) always welcomed guests and I have been a guest, invited by strangers I've met. The best experience was hiking through Wales, meeting a nice couple bathing in the lake on Mount Snowdon and being invited to stay with them on our trip to London a few days later. That guy even was an Amiga-lover like me :-)

Interests

*Politics for a better world, obviously, as an active member of the German Green party.
*Books old, antique and new, having, reading and bookcrossing them. (though I also read them on my Kindle ebook-reader, which makes for lighter travel)
*People, old, antique and young, and engaging in conversations with them.
