Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been moving around for a good minute now living a simple life, the more I explore the more I am drawn to community and people. My tent is great and all but if I can have a hot shower and a friendly conversation for no monies, why the bloody hell not.

Interests

My passion is really anything that gets me outside and out of my comfort zone, using my body to its full potential and maybe more than sometimes. This includes Tramping (the kiwi way, hiking to everyone else), Rock climbing, I dabble in a spot of Canyoning, Illustration, Trail Running, Surfing, Mountain Biking.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Tash Sultana, Ocean Alley, Gang of Youths, All Day, lets just say I have a fondness for all things that remind me of home.. Movies: I'm a sucker for Sci-Fi and documentaries, I love the commentary on the human experience. And a good little bit of some weird alien drama yesssss! Books: Desert Solitaire, Touching the Void, Mans Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, recently its been working for DOC living in a wee little hut in the mountains of Mount Somers, New Zealand. Greeting fellow like minded souls in the outdoors, couldn't think of a better way to spend my Summer.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know quite a bit about the outdoors and certainly have some hot backpacking tips on how to go ultra light if you are keen. I'm always up to learn from others and be challenged with a different perspective on life. That is why I am absolutely captivated by travelling, hitchiking and long distance trails (thru-hiking) and there are some interesting stories that have come out from it all.
