Holaaa! I'm Bec :)

I'm a spontaneous, and extremely clueless university student from Brisbane, Australia! I love getting up into the mountains or down into the ocean. I'm obsessed with music festivals, travelling to places I've never been, experiencing different cultures, and connecting with amazing people along the way!

What I've been up to recently...

In August of 2015 (less than a year after graduating high school and before I had even turned 18) I quit my job, deferred uni and started backpacking around Europe.. After a few months living/working on the French Riviera and travelling through Italy & France I came for a short visit to Amsterdam. After just two days in Holland I loved it SO MUCH and I decided that I just wasn't ready to go back to real life and jobs and study and bleh, and so I MOVED TO AMSTERDAM!
I got my official dutch residency, found an apartment (this was so freaking hard) and a wonderful job in a vintage clothes store! I'm so unbelievably incredibly grateful for all the amazing experiences i've been given and also for the seriously wonderful people I've met along the way. I know now that this is how I want to feel my whole life: excited, euphoric, grateful, vibrant, ALIVE.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I Just wanna see as much of the world as I can and meet some great people along the way! CS is such an awesome way to make friends all across the globe and return the favour to those who visit your country too! Also I like hosting too because I think being around people who are on holidays kinda makes me feel like I am too :)

Interests

Music, biology, the environment, travel (of course), experiencing and learning about new cultures, hiking & ANYTHING in the mountains, snorkelling, the ocean/the beach & animals. Health, Astrology, Veganism & Ethics are also big passions of mine!

I'm also really passionate about my studies, although sometimes it may not seem like it -because I often take time off to travel- I really love what I do! I've always been very passionate about our earth and making sure she has a healthy and promising future! So, because of this, I decided to study a mix of ecology/zoology/conservation, I also became vegan in mid 2014 to minimise my impact towards global warming and the suffering of non-human animals.
So basically - I'm always up for a good conversation about Mother Nature!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you to do a cartwheel! Or any other nifty gymnastics moves that your heart desires! :)

I would love to learn meditation! I'm going to do a Vipassana (10 day silent meditation) course in India in November so it would be super cool to host/surf with some people who could help me out with that :)
