About Me

Most people would describe me as bubbly, cheerful and optimistic to a fault (not sure if that is exactly a compliment). I love to laugh and tend to be very easygoing.

I like getting lost in strange cities and exploring the interesting and unusual architecture and art that they have to offer.

I am a decent cook and a great baker (I can make a mean caramel slice) although my cooking methods tend to border on whatever I can throw together without instructions, which sometimes leads to some pretty interesting meals.

I hope this will be a great way to make some amazing new friends from all across the world and hopefully visit them in the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people, hearing about different experiences and I want to be more open in my approach to life. I’d love to show people around Brisbane or any of the surrounding beaches/ mountains.

Unfortunately I probably won’t be able to take anyone in as I am currently living at home (saving up for a move to Europe) but if you really are desperate let me know and I might be able to sort something out for you :)

I don't have much couchsurfing experience just yet, but I’m hoping to change that.

Interests

I love talking, food, watching movies, the theatre, going out with friends and coffee in the morning. I live on a lake near the ocean so I go kayaking and swimming from time to time. I enjoy going to museums and art galleries and pretty much anything new and exciting. I play netball socially, and generally do Pilates, Boxing and Jiu Jitsu throughout the week.

Music, Movies, and Books

I tend to read just about any book but I love autobiographies and historical novels. Getting a glimpse into a different life at a different point in time fascinates me.

I’m a massive film buff: I adore clever scripts, beautiful cinematography and great soundtracks. I’m also a big fan of British and black comedy.

My music tastes seem to vary depending on what mood I’m in- from orchestral (especially movie scores) and jazz, to indie/ punk/ pop/ light rock. I’m interested in finding out what other people like and maybe trying out some new things.

I’m always open to any suggestions you have!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flown over an active volcano in a helicopter (also discovered I have horrible motion sickness in helicopters – bonus!), Had an elephant stand on me in Bali, Scuba Diving in the Great Barrier Reef and tons more that I can’t think of right now…

Teach, Learn, Share

I like sharing my time, stories, and opinions and hope that you could offer me the same.

I am very interested in learning new languages as well so if you can help me that would be great.

I could maybe teach you to cook if you are not very skilled in that department?
