My name is Becca, I'm a 26 year-old American traveler on a European circuit this summer, and while I love the hostel life I also value meeting locals because it's always a different vibe from the international mix. I am from Boulder, Colorado, in the middle of the US and am traveling to broaden my perspective and try to figure out my next step.

I have traveled a little bit and always enjoy the perspective it brings, but this is my first solo trip and I am learning a lot! I love to do yoga, cook, explore local restaurants, visit museums, and check out street art wherever I can. I like to be outside, will go to the beach regularly if there's one nearby, and love to read books at local cafes sipping coffee and people watching.

I can be introverted and prefer one-on-one time and smaller groups to large, very social settings. I love hostels but sometimes need a break from the hustle and bustle.

I like to go out dancing at night, but just for one or two nights typically :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking to get a more authentic local experience as I travel. I have done a lot of hostel hopping, and while it's nice to meet fellow travelers, it's a constant go go go mentality that can get a bit tiresome. Sometimes I want to be shown a mellow, local bar to trade stories and chill rather than plan a tourist excursion at every turn.

Love to learn about different countries histories, basics in new languages, how people came to be where they are, wherever that is, and whatever it is that inspires someone. I love to watch people's faces light up when they talk about what they're passionate about whether it's politics or kite surfing!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Yoga which I practice daily, cooking meals (one of my favorite activities), English lessons or conversational practice, Spanish conversational practice, DIY, crafting and art skills, views/perceptions from the United States, especially politics, stories :)
