Hello World,

My name's Becca. My friends call me Bird. I guess it's reflective of both my personality and my physical appearance. Well, I think I act like a bird (part time hummingbird, part time hawk) but I look (or my ex-boyfriend says I look) like Big Bird.
I'm quite the paradox. I'm as much a Creature of Comfort, content to rock in a hammock with a good book as I am a party-animal; I'm happy with consistency but utterly restless if things get too predictable; I cherish my handful of friends but seek out new ones with earnest. But above all, I love to laugh. It's the cure for everything because everything is funny if you look at it from the right angle.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Financially cost-effective but soul-enriching alternatives to the usual travel sleeping arrangements. I'm a fly by the seat of my pants kinda gal but pitching a tent in rainy Ireland is really only cute once.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked 5 kilometres in 40 degree heat with a tent and backpack, 14 litres of water in two 7 litre jugs to Boom Festival in Portugal, while fighting a 40 degree fever. Oh wait, this asked for "amazing thing I've done" not "crazy".
