About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discovering the world that we all share, hopefully spreading peace, love and freedom!

ABOUT ME

English-major. Literature-minor. Theatre Geek. Avid Reader. Occaisional Writer. Chocolate and music make me happy. As do reasonable amounts of snow in Winter and Springtime in general. I love to travel and have been fortunate enough to have seen lots of places and met incredible people. I have a cat and a hamster. My favourite colour is green. I love spinach, Wicked and nature- which incidentally are all green as well. I play Basketball with a passion.

PHILOSOPHY

"Anybody can learn to think, or believe, or know, but not a single human being can be taught to feel... the moment you feel, you're nobody-but-yourself - in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There actually have been a few things that I've done or seen that qualify as amazing.

Living with a host-family for a year in Virginia definitely was all kinds of amazing!!! So much so that they have become my second family, really.

Hiking halfway down the Grand Canyon is definitely one of those amazing experiences. It is hard to comprehend the greatness of the Grand Canyon. We (meaning my fab host-family and I) experienced something we dubbed 'Canyon Silence' as the Grand Canyon is so huge that it swallows sounds so easily. Coming from a city with tons of sound pollution 'hearing' the silence felt like a real priviledge.

Also, it's pretty amazing to think that I survived rafting down Section IV of the Chattooga river in South Carolina. Walking beneath a waterfall and feeling it's power on my shoulders and swimming/diving through a hole in a rock are things that will stay with me forever.

To raise money for the German equivalent of my senior prom, we created a Variety-show which I co-wrote and co-directed. Seeing it played out on stage and hearing the audience's reactions to it was pretty amazing as well.
