About Me
ABOUT ME
I am currently a student at College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine studying human ecology--for me this means a focus in organic agriculture and foreign languages, among other things such as art and movement. I am an aspiring farmer and amateur artist, interested in languages and the earth. Before starting college, I spent 9 months on a gap year traveling around Europe, Morocco, and Eastern Europe - this is where I encountered and experienced Couchsurfing, and met incredible people! My passions lie with the earth, farming, people, and traveling. I recently studied Spanish abroad in Yucatan, Mexico.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in the kindness of strangers. I believe that the secret to a rich life is to grow and raise your own food and to share that food with others. I believe that traveling opens your mind to new and unbelievable things, and teaches you countless lessons.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed many a couch and met amazing people through this website. I look forward to being able to host other travelers and return the kindness I've been shown!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Counchsurfing has showed me proof to believe in the kindness of strangers. Each and every place I've stayed, I've been greeted with the utmost generosity, and I will be forever grateful and in awe. It feels so special to have made so many new friends in every place I go. Each and every one is more than welcome to visit me sometime in the states! I hope it happens someday that I get to host someone who has hosted me.

Music, Movies, and Books
I just finished reading "The Dirty Life," by Kristin Kimball. It made me want to quit college and start my farm right now, it was so enthralling. Quite an inspiration. Perhaps I'll apply to work on their farm one day and learn about draft horses.
My list of favorite books include, but are not limited to:
Rise Up Singing
The BFG
The Secret Life of Bees
In Defense of Food
The Color Purple
Wild Fermentation
Home Cheese Making
anything by Shel Silverstein
Winnie the Pooh
all the Harry Potter books
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
On New Year's Day in 2012, I dove into the North Sea during my stay in the Netherlands, which is a Dutch tradition. It was so cold! And amazing!
In December 2012 I hitchhiked from my home in Pennsylvania to my family in Texas. This was in part to prove to myself (against everything I heard) that the United States is just as full of kind and generous strangers as the rest of the world. I'm happy to say that the trip was an incredible success. I've never beamed more. I met some of the kindest people I've ever met in my life.
