Hi world!

I am a 23-year old Australian video journalist and avid dog-lover relocating to London.

After graduating university I took a year off to explore the world, which ultimately led me to say goodbye to my family and friends in Australia and move my entire life to London.

When I was at university my concentration was on Peace & Conflict studies, and I am greatly interested in solving global problems through non-violence. I have had experience in Australia both in the military (although please hear me out about this before you get any misconceptions about what this involves) and working for a national newspaper. I plan on volunteering for the UN when I turn 25, and hope to one day end up in the world of foreign correspondence / humanitarian public relations.

I consider myself a kind and empathetic person who loves learning about and from other people. I am very open-minded and also love having my views challenged, as I believe it makes for a more-informed being.

This is my first experience using Couchsurfing, so please be kind!

While I'm excited for the next chapter of my life to begin, I'm still a bit short on friends and a place to rest my head, and would really appreciate either. Being in a new city can be scary, so it'd mean the world to meet some like-minded people who can pass on their wisdom about life in the UK!

Favourite books include the Harry Potter series (of course!), East of Eden, Papillion, Duma Key, Adventures in Journalism, The Silver Sword and I Am Malala
