About Me
CURRENT MISSION
We are currently travelling for 11 months, possibly more, since September 2014. Our route takes us to Nepal, India, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietam, Cambodia, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and finally New Zealand, where we plan to travels and work.
ABOUT ME
Hello! Thomas and I met in Brisbane, Australia in 2011 where we were both travelling. Myself, from the UK, was on a solo gap year trip and Thomas, from Bordeaux, France, was with a friend from home. We travelled round together and then moved to Liverpool, England, where I spent three years at University studying English Literature and History, whilst Thomas worked as a chef in a privately owned and highly rated Italian restaurant in the city centre.
Our aim is not only to see different things, experience a different culture and ultimately satisfy our curiosity; we intend to completely immerse ourselves in a new way of life, one that differs from what we already know. By doing so, we hope to become more open-minded and rounded individuals, and hopefully others will benefit too.
We are very new to the couchsurfing community and have only surfed once, in Nepal with Yam and his family, who live in the Thamel district of Kathmandu. They were extraordinarily welcoming, hospitable and helpful and it was a real pleasure to learn their way of living. Now, after this experience, we are determined to pursue couchsurfing some more as we not only appreciate the host and their hospitality but also the knowledge that can be gained.
Interests
We both have a love for the outdoors - walking, hiking, and spending time in the fresh air! We are extremely sociable and love nothing more than chilling with a few beers - though not the club-going type - we'd prefer having a quiet evening with some friends at the pub or watching a film with good wine and good food. We also really enjoy cooking together, whether its a yummy Indian curry or a scrummy banana loaf!

Music, Movies, and Books
We are massive fans of films and TV. We have a very wide ranging taste in films; we like to watch anything from Gravity to The Hobbit to Pulp Fiction to Mrs Doubtfire. Amongst Thomas' favourite TV series is The Sopranos and The Wire and we both have a fondness of The Office (the UK version though!). Also having studied English Literature at University I love a good book, one that you can't put down! My favourites are amongst the classics including Austen's Pride and Prejudice and Bronte's Wuthering Heights.
Teach, Learn, Share
Currently travelling at the moment and very new to the couchsurfing network, but having experienced it myself, and appreciating what someone can gain from the experience, I will certainly consider hosting once I return to the UK.
