Hey there! My name is Rebecca, most call me Becky. I a€™m always on an adventure. I like the smell of the earth, the touch of waves, the taste of berries, the sight of trees, the sound of laughter, and the feeling of being fully alive.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in love and I live my life accordingly.

Most of my actions stem from joy, sustainability and experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to participate in couchsurfing. I have crashed on mutual friends couches by arrangement of other friends. I love experiencing a new place through the eyes of a local rather than the tourist trap type experience. After living in San Francisco for 2.5 years I have come accustomed to a genuine local experience versus the crowded fabricated tourist experience.

Interests

I have many interests and hobbies.
I love being outside, taking walks, hiking, picnicking, trail running, swimming in lakes, rivers and oceans, jumping of cliffs, snowboarding, Stand up paddle boarding, learning about plants, birds and animals, doing habitat restoration, helping in plant nurseries, mountain biking, road biking, scuba diving, rock climbing, reading, writing, arts and crafts, DYI crafts, knitting, taking pictures, live music, going to music festivals, discovering new music, meeting new people, taking the long way home, exploring new neighborhoods, eating new foods, coffee, beer and wine tasting and cooking. I'm sure there are plenty more I missed.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not much of a movie person. I do like documentaries and the occasional romantic comedy.

I listen to all different types of music. I love live music shows, concerts, festivals.

I read often. I always have a book on me. I enjoy non-fiction, historical fiction, environmental essays and travel writing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a year teaching English at a Catholic Public Middle school in Barranquilla, Colombia. One of the most rewarding experiences I have ever done.

I want to learn to sew, speak spanish, meditate, and surf.

I can teach english.
